Working as a Welder in Poland Without Experience: Myth or Reality?

High salaries (from 1500 euros and up) attract thousands of people to Poland. Many, hearing about the severe shortage of factory workers, think: "I'll go as a welder, even if I've never held a torch in my hands—they'll teach me there!".

But are European employers really ready to pay big money to beginners? The experts at Zvaryuvalnyk.xyz reveal the whole truth about employment without experience and provide a step-by-step plan for starting in the profession.

The bitter truth: There will be no big money at the start

Let's be frank: no factory will entrust the welding of a critical metal structure to a person with no skills. High rates (35-40 PLN netto) are reserved for those who can arrive, successfully pass the practical test ("próbki"), and deliver a high-quality X-ray or ultrasound-ready weld from day one.

If an agency promises you mountains of gold without any experience—it's almost certainly a scam.

So, is there a chance for beginners? Yes! (Position: Pomocnik spawacza)

If you don't know how to weld at all, your real chance of getting into production is a vacancy for a welder's assistant (pomocnik spawacza) or a locksmith-laborer.

What you will do: Clean welds from slag and spatter with an angle grinder, carry parts, prepare metal for welding (bevel edges), and help the foreman assemble structures.

How much they pay: Typically, an assistant's rate is between 22 and 25 PLN netto per hour.

The main bonus: You will be on the shop floor, seeing the process from the inside. If you show a desire to learn, senior foremen often allow you to practice on scrap metal in your free time. This is the best free school!

The ideal path: Training before departure
